I started this son in April this year. It was Easter and I wanted to do a song about the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The words came reasonably quickly, but the tune took a long time. Eventually I realised this could not be a traditional song, but a story, so the chorus was not going to be a repeatable theme in the song.
To be honest, the song turned out differently to what I imagined, but the more I played it, the more I knew it was the right mix, tempo and style.
I hope you are blessed with it, and will inspire you to have hope in Jesus Christ who has conquered death.

"Risen" by KunzyPoet
[VERSE]
I just weep and cry
For yesterday Jesus died
I cannot sleep,
I keep thinking he is the Messiah
They nailed Him upon the cross
He said He was the Son of God
Now He's dead,
And my hope is lost
Just like the crowd
I abandoned him in death
Filled with doubt
I turned away and I just left
But in my head, I knew he said
That he'd be raised on the third day
Did he know he'd die this way?
[PRE-CHORUS]
I walk along the rocky parth
Towards the tomb, it is so dark
Along the road, I'm so alone
How can I go on?
[ONE BAR BREAK]
[CHORUS]
Where is my hope?
It's so hard to find
Jesus said he'd live again
But I had watched him die
Will His words come true
Or am I just a fool
To hope for a miracle
as I wait till sunrise
[BRIDGE - sung with power]
As sunlight hits the rocky tomb
An earthquake shakes the ground
There's blinding light
As I cry out
But angels shout
All heaven praises God with singing
The tomb's empty
Death is defeated
For Jesus Christ the Son of God is risen
[INSTRUMENTAL]
[CHORUS]
There is now always hope
And it's for all mankind
It's the resurrection
of JESUS CHRIST
[CHORUS]
There is now always hope
And it's for all mankind
It's the resurrection
of JESUS CHRIST
